How to play
One vault a day. Eight guesses. Can you crack the combination?
The basics
Every day at midnight UTC, a new vault opens — the same one for every player in the world. Its combination is 4 digits, all different (so 3-5-7-8 is possible, 3-3-7-8 is not). You have 8 guesses to find it.
Reading the tiles
After each guess, every tile tells you something:
- 7Green ✓ — right digit, right position. Lock it in.
- 3Gold ↔ — this digit is in the code, but it belongs somewhere else.
- 4Gray × — not in the code at all. Eliminate it.
Example: if the secret code is 5-7-0-2 and you guess 5-2-9-7, you'd see:
The 5 is placed, the 2 and 7 are in the code but misplaced, and 9 is a dead end. The keypad remembers all of this for you — keys turn green, gold, or fade out as you learn.
Intel
Tiles aren't your only tool. Each vault comes with three pieces of intel — true logic clues about the combination, like “the code contains exactly one prime digit” or “the digits add up to between 20 and 24.”
The first clue is yours from the start. The second unlocks after your 3rd guess, the third after your 6th. Sharp solvers combine intel with tile feedback to corner the code fast.
Difficulty & streaks
Vaults follow a weekly rhythm: Monday–Wednesday are easier, Thursday–Friday step up, and weekends are the hard jobs.
Playing every day builds your streak — win or lose, showing up counts (winning streaks are tracked separately for bragging rights). Your stats live on your device; create a free account to protect your streak across devices.
Share your result
When the vault opens (or holds), share your spoiler-free result grid with one tap — friends see how you got there, never the code.
